Have you even tried to grind up kale and chard leaves in a blender hoping that it would become a very delicious and nutritious smoothie… but failed? Well I think you have the wrong kind of blender my friend.

As I’ve searched through the internet and read many reviews about different kinds of grinding appliances, one kind of blender caught my attention. The all new Blendtec Total Blender Basic is the solution to your chopping, grinding, crushing, cooking, mincing, dicing, and pureeing needs. But it does not stop there; the Blendtec Total Blender Basic’s blade shaft in the jar is directly connected to a drive socket on the end of the motor shaft.

Without the use of a clutch or belt it has removed the possibility of losing power the way  other blenders do when they use other methods to couple the motor to the blade inside the jar. The end result of this great design is a blade that will spin at a maximum of 28,000 rpm (270 MPH) and be able to hack and slash through the toughest blending tasks.

The microprocessor of the Blendtec Total Blender Basic is programmed to detect an obstruction and for a fraction of a second the motor will do something which is called a “hammer effect” and dice through the obstruction and clear it from the blade’s path.

Now let’s go over to the jar of the Blendtec Total Blender basic. Basically it’s a patented square jar. This design helps create a powerful blending vortex inside which moves the food around and forces it down to the level where the blade can eventually make contact and be efficiently pulverized.

Another feature and benefit worth noting is the Patented Two-Prong Wingtip Blade which is designed to help draw down food and catch it along the length of the blade. This means it works in sync with the square design of the jar and together they food down around the blade.

The Blend cycles of this awesome blender are also programmed to start out slowly and then speed up and vary the speed as the cycle continues. This type of motion helps pull ingredients down around the blade where it can be diced up almost 1,000 times per second. The cycles will also stop automatically. This is one of the features of the Smart Touch Tec-nology™.

The Blendtec Total Blender Basic will fit in any standard countertop with overhead kitchen cabinets. With a weight of 6.8 pounds and a dimension of 15.5”H x 7”W x 8”D space will never be an issue. The light weight and small size means that packing for travel is easy and it is easy to carry.

Now I know this is sounding really great, but there’s still more. The Total Blender Basic is packed with 7 pre-programmed buttons that alternate from high and low speeds. This pulls ingredients down into the “blending vortex” more like a twister sucking in anything. With this action it enables the blender to pulverize evenly without the need for the operator to use a tamper.

The timed program settings allow you to walk away while your smoothie or kale drink is being created. You can also make use of the manual button to control the speed of the machine to get the desired texture for your creative recipe.

As I’ve said earlier, the Total Blender Basic is equipped with the Smart-Touch Tec-nology. These are buttons that you will be utilizing with the machine. All the buttons are smooth which means clean-ups are fast and easy. There is one toggle switch on the back side of the motor base for the power.
